On this very special episode of Caleb with Curls, I got to flex my cooking skills with Executive Chef, Paul Bauer! My Uncle Macks Fleming works as a cook for Chef Paul at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown San Diego.

When I visited Chef Paul at his job, he took me on a quick tour through the kitchen. We also went into the giant refrigerator, where we saw a bunch of different fruits and vegetables.
Turnips
Strawberries
Heirloom Tomatoes
Blueberries
Asparagus
After the tour, Chef Paul taught me how to make a hot dog that looked like an OCTOPUS! It was one of the coolest things ever. When you watch the video, be sure to ask your parents or some other responsible adult to help you. There were a lot of things that require an adult to help.
Here are the ingredients that we used in the video, to make our octopus hot dogs!
2 hot dogs
2 cups of oil
1/2 cup of blackberries
1/4 cup of mustard

In this video, I independently read “Cooking with the Cat” by Bonnie Worth from the Step Into Reading Series. For more information or to purchase this book, click here.

Thanks Aunty Shauna!

They are not fans of mustard, so I cut slits in the hot dogs and inserted bacon bits for eyes.

Hay! Way to improvise! If you have a picture of it, I’d love to share it on my social media pages. You can either tag me on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter @calebwithcurls or email me hello@calebwithcurls.com!

This is where a sharp boning knife is essential, because the legs will be thin and fragile with some hot dogs.
